PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Tata Consultancy Services, Sydney, Australia (April 2022 – till date)

 

Customer: Commonwealth Bank of Australia

 

Project: Tech simplification program (Infrastructure modernisation factory)

 

IMFA (infrastructure modernization factory) earlier known as Tech simplification is a project initiated by CBA to migrate applications to CBA’s AWS public cloud by modernising infrastructure to run the application on highly scalable AWS services with automated code pipeline to deploy infrastructure stack as well as application

 

Role: Solutions Architect (AWS) and Security Champion

 

Responsibilities:

 

●        Provide guidance to assessment team in qualifying applications for migration to AWS

●        Application data discovery using predefined template, GraphIT, ServiceNow discovery, interactive sessions with application support teams.

●        Based on discovered data, prepare solution design aligning to AWS well architected framework

●        Socialise design with CBA’s solutions architects and network / security architects, and get the design endorsed.

●        Perform security assessment of solution as per CBA’s security frameworks and guidelines, socialise with domain security lead and get endorsement.

●        Provide design walkthrough sessions to application service owner / operations team and service management team and prepare service recovery document.

●        Deploy application and associated infrastructure stack using cloud formation template, Github and various devops tools.

●        Provide technical guidance to application team and project managers at various levels of project lifecycle based on the requirement.

 

Achievements:

 

●        Designed and deployed Cloud foundation for one of the CBA’s subsidiaries, using AWS Control Tower, Organisations and AWS service catalog

●        Designed and deployed log processors for streaming logs from various sources (ALB, logs received from external SaaS apps etc) to Splunk

●        Designed and migrated a complex legacy application built on custom job scheduler, Teradata utilities and SSIS jobs to AWS utilising AWS Batch, step functions and AWS Glue.

●        Designed solution and migrated one of the complex business banking applications to a hybrid cloud platform with front end on AWS ECS Fargate within CBA’s strategic cloud platform (DHP) and backend services on on premise VMware platform.

Achievements:

 

●        Successfully designed and modernised a merchant webapp (for one of the retail customers of Telefonica) using AWS EKS, AWS RDS (SQL and MongoDB), AWS Elasticache (Redis), AWS CodePipeline. This involved discovering and breaking Dotnet monolith app to containers using AWS App2Container service.
